Flap wheels for angle grinders

Assembly shop operators using angle grinders can now benefit from PFERD flap wheel performance without having to switch power tools. These new flap wheels are genuine problem solvers, proving their excellence and versatility in many general-use contexts such as weld dressing in the fabrication of handrails; removal of rust, paint, coatings and heat discoloration in locksmith's and metalworking shops; multi-purpose grinding on steel and stainless steel components; or producing homogeneous finishes on small and medium-sized surfaces and workpiece contours. Poliflex^® texturing tools

Based on a silicon carbide abrasive, Poliflex^® surface texturing tools are ideally suited for removing surface flaws and creating uniform transitions in directional-stroke finished surfaces. Their special properties make them perfect for use on stainless steel components, whether in weld dressing, grinding out defects in the fabrication of kitchen sinks and counters, or creating visual effects and oriented-stroke patterns on food processing equipment and handrails. With its new-generation PoliflexÒ texturing products, PFERD offers the right solution to any application problem of this type. The product line-up comprises mounted texturing points (cylindrical with or without radius end) in various diameters and lengths. A choice of abrasive texturing wheels and rollers for use on larger surfaces round out the PFERD range of surface texturing tools.

COMBIDISC^® diamond discs

In applications involving abrasive work on wear-resistant platings and armoring made of tungsten carbide, chromium carbide, titanium. etc., these diamond discs give outstanding results. Featuring a particularly high-grade diamond abrasive, these newly developed tools are also ideal for use on jet engine materials, delivering excellent results on Hastelloy, Inconell, or titanium and its alloys. They are also perfect for grinding work on extremely hard materials such as hard metals, glass, ceramics, vitreous enamel, stone, and glass or carbon fiber-reinforced plastics.

August Rüggeberg supplies these discs in 25, 38, 50 and 75 mm diameters and D251, D126 and D76 grit for both mounting systems of the PFERD COMBIDISC^® range.

POLIVLIES^® flap discs

These new PFERD tools excel in surface grinding jobs on stainless steel. Developed through an experience-sharing process with tool users, they are recommended for fine-grinding of large surface areas, for removing heat discolorations, and for weld cleaning or light weld dressing work on stainless steel parts. They also accomplish fine results in post-assembly finishing operations, e.g., in the fabrication of tanks and process equipment.

POLIVLIES^® flap discs come in 115 and 125 mm diameters and are available in coarse, medium and fine grit.

POLIFAN^® SGP-CO-COOL

For users demanding aggressive abrasive performance and maximum stock removal from a tool delivering high surface quality, low thermal loads and particularly cool grinding on high-alloyed workpieces, PFERD now offers this innovative special-purpose product in 115, 125 and 180 mm diameters and flat and tapered versions.

The new POLIFAN^® SGP-CO-COOL flap wheel has been developed for ultra-demanding grinding tasks on poorly heat conducting or high-strength materials. The aggressive abrasive properties of its ceramic grain provide constant top-notch abrasive action while effectively avoiding heat build-up in the metal. The self-sharpening characteristics of the ceramic abrasive, even at minimum application pressure, ensure optimum grinding results without heat tarnishing or excessive thermal loading of the workpiece while achieving outstanding stock removal at the same time. Measured against yesterday's standards of technology, these features make for an extremely cost-efficient solution. Apart from performing well on all steel and stainless steel grades, POLIFAN^® SGP-CO-COOL flap wheels are particularly suitable for use on nickel-based and titanium alloys, hard nonferrous metals and high-strength steels, providing a superior surface finish and high cost-efficiency on these materials.
